Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 13, 2026
PulseFocus ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how
we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our PulseFocus iOS application.
Information We Collect
Data Stored Locally on Your Device:
- Timer Settings: Your focus duration, break duration, session counts, and timer
preferences are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults.
- Session Statistics: Records of your completed focus sessions, including duration, date,
and associated tags, are stored locally on your device.
- Tags: Custom tags you create to organize your focus sessions are stored locally.
- Timer Presets: Saved timer configurations are stored locally on your device.
- App Blocking Preferences: Your selections for which apps to block during focus sessions
are stored locally using Apple's FamilyControls framework.
Data Processed by Third Parties:
- Subscription Information: If you subscribe to PulseFocus Premium, your purchase is
processed through Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat
receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts to verify your subscription status. We do not
have access to your payment information or Apple ID.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide timer and focus session functionality
- To display your statistics and track your progress
- To block selected apps during focus sessions (using Apple's Screen Time API)
- To send local notifications when sessions start or end
- To display Live Activities on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island
- To verify and manage your premium subscription status
App Blocking & Screen Time
PulseFocus uses Apple's FamilyControls and ManagedSettings frameworks to block apps during focus sessions.
This requires your explicit authorization. When you grant Screen Time access:
- We only block apps you specifically select
- App blocking is only active during your focus sessions
- We do not collect, transmit, or store information about which apps are installed on your device
- All app blocking data remains on your device and is never sent to our servers
Data Storage & Security
All your personal data (timer settings, statistics, tags, and app blocking preferences) is stored
locally on your device. We do not operate servers that collect or store your personal
information.
Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features, including device passcode, Face ID, or
Touch ID.

Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties. The only data shared
externally is:

Your Rights
Because your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it:
- Access: View your statistics and settings directly in the app
- Deletion: Delete the app to remove all locally stored data, or use the app's settings
to clear specific data
- Portability: Your data remains on your device and syncs via iCloud if enabled

children. The app does not require account creation or personal information to function.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, PulseFocus sends local notifications to alert you when focus sessions and breaks
start or end. These notifications are generated locally on your device and are not sent through external
servers.
